SINISTHRA comes from Finland and has been in various stages of existence since around 1999. Their brand of music is basically metal, drawing from a wide source of different influences and blending them to a sound that can't really be compared to any one single band. Always quite melancholic, most of the time quite heavy, and often with strong shades of 70's prog with lesser shades of 90's grunge The band released the debut album on 2005, called Last Of The Stories Of Long Past Glories to favourable reviews and got labelled gothic metal, somewhat misleadingly. As the singer Tomi Joutsen joined Amorphis, his career skyrocketed and Sinisthra's didn't, so due to lack of time from his part, things slowed down. After the successful release of the new 'The Long And Beaten Way', Sinisthra and Rockshots Records decided to re-release a new version of the cult debut album. The reissue version includes 4 bonus tracks: two demo versions ('Ice Cube Sun' and 'Unrevelealed') plus two unreleased songs ('Not For You' and 'To Have and To Hold').
