This book has 9 short stories of the Second World War. Each is written around an event. My 2 all time favorite stories are The Swimmer and The Crop Duster. The Crop Duster could be made into an exciting movie. The Carpenter taught me how and why my Daddy left the family after coming home. That story was very insightful and I thank Mr. McGrorty for writing it. I was born 3 months before Pearl Harbor and was in no way clued in to why he left us.Dayl
