This book is an excellent way to teach children compassion for animals - especially ones we don’t typically encounter at home! I learned so much about opossums that I didn’t know - that they eat ticks, which helps prevent the spread of Lyme disease, and that their babies grow in their mama’s pouch, and that they are nocturnal! I love how there are interactive questions on each page, so I can stop and discuss what we read with my kids. They love that we have a conversation about a different page each night! The illustrations are beautiful and intriguing. This book is amazing!
